My Story
Asia Harris holds an MFA in Creative Writing and a BA in Communications Media Art. She is the author of the urban fiction novel Life’s Rollercoaster, two poetry collections—Mouth Wide Shut and Bitter Sweet—and the newly released children’s book Hello Summer, which is now available to thousands of readers through the Indie Illinois library collection on the BiblioBoard Library platform.
Writing has always been Asia’s first love. Becoming a successful writer has been her dream since adolescence, and while it once felt out of reach, she refused to give up. Instead, she worked harder, strengthened her craft, and brought her creative visions to life.
Today, Asia is a published author, screenwriter, poet, music composer, and playwright. Her work has been featured in Chicago State University’s 10-Minute Play Festival, recognized by the Chicago Indie Film Awards, named a quarter-finalist by Wiki: The World’s Fastest Screenplay Contest, and selected as a semi-finalist by the Big Apple Agents and Managers Networking Lab through FilmFreeway.com. She is currently preparing to film her TV pilot, adapted from her novel Life’s Rollercoaster.
With a strong foundation in literature, broadcasting, screenwriting, videography, and communications, Asia continues to create boldly across genres. She is passionate about telling stories that inspire, uplift, and connect with audiences of all ages. Bringing her ideas to life—and sharing them with the world—remains her greatest joy.
